Fr. Henry Hemmerling (1936-2024)

The Parish of Most Holy Redeemer mourns the loss of its beloved second pastor, Father Henry L. Hemmerling, who passed on to eternal life Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 88.

 

Father Henry served here as pastor from 1996 to 2001. He was a priest for 58 years.

 

Father Henry's body will be received in the parish church on Thursday, June 27th at 2 pm and waked until 4 pm. The wake will resume at 6 pm until 6:45 pm. At 7 pm, the Mass of Jesus Christ the High Priest will be celebrated by Very Rev. Jonathan S Toborowsky, Vicar General of the Diocese of Metuchen and the homilist will be Father Henry's dear friend, Msgr. Francis J. Duffy of the Diocese of Paterson.

 

On Friday, June 28th, the wake will resume from 9:30 to 10:45 am. At 11 am, the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Most Rev. James F. Checchio, JCD, MBA, ​​​​Bishop of Metuchen and the homilist will be Father Chester H. Carina, pastor.

good and faithful servant of the Lord.
