One of the Church's two "Service" Sacraments, Matrimony consecrates man and woman in a lasting bond of God's love and service to Him, one another, their children, and community.
Planning a wedding is serious business involving lots of considerations for family and friends to assure that all goes smoothly. We all want the ceremony – as well as the other aspects of the celebration – to work together in harmony for all to enjoy the blessings of the day and the rich graces the Sacrament bestows on all.
Marriage is a Sacrament and must be celebrated within a Mass or a marriage ceremony in a Catholic Church or designated sacred space, officiated by a priest or deacon. To help assure there is as little stress as possible and that the Sacrament of Matrimony is celebrated in the most respectful of ways, arrangements with the parish are to be made at least ONE YEAR prior to the intended date. In order to schedule a wedding in the church, either the bride or the groom must be a registered parish member.
Pre-Cana or Engaged Encounter, an educational and inspirational experience is required of the engaged couple. Contact the pastor or any of the deacons for more information. You may also contact the office, 732-566-9334 or Email us. [email protected]
