An Opportunity to Pray through Song!
There is an old saying that "when you sing at Mass, you pray twice." And this adage is true. Music and song are one of the oldest gifts of praise and love we can offer our God.
The entire Book of Psalms in the Old Testament is an amazing collection of the musical ways God's Chosen People raised their voices in prayer, petition, worship, and praise to their God. King David, perhaps the most famous of the kings among the Hebrews, was famous for his songs of thanksgiving, supplication, repentance, and worship.
The Most Holy Redeemer Music Ministry seeks to continue this long line of musical prayer. The Ministry works closely with the Music Director to prepare for the liturgy and seasonal music throughout the Church Year. Parishioners who sing or plan a musical instrument are always welcome to join either the Contemporary Music Group at the 10:00 AM Mass or the Traditional Choir at the 11:30 AM Mass.
